Design for Manufacturing & Assembly Bootcamp Ignites Innovation at UniPod

Two weeks ago, UniPod proudly hosted the Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) Bootcamp, a dynamic, hands-on workshop led by the Society of Industrial Engineering. The event brought together passionate minds eager to explore the role of smart engineering in shaping Malawi’s industrial future.

Participants engaged in a practical CNC machining session, learning how to streamline design processes and optimize production for real-world impact. From tool paths to prototypes, the Bootcamp was a gateway to mastering efficient and scalable manufacturing solutions.

Beyond the machines, what truly stood out was the spirit of collaboration and curiosity that filled the room. Attendees—from aspiring engineers to seasoned innovators—shared insights, challenged ideas, and built a sense of community around the shared goal of industrial advancement in Malawi.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the session such a meaningful experience. Events like these are a testament to what’s possible when we bring together talent, tools, and vision under one roof.

At UniPod, we remain committed to providing spaces that inspire innovation and empower the next generation of creators and problem-solvers. This Bootcamp was just one step toward that journey—and many more are on the horizon.

Stay connected for future sessions, trainings, and collaborations as we continue to build a smarter, more industrially vibrant Malawi.
